Wow, Tuesday was gorgeous. I had a busy day off of work and was happy I got outside a few times. I decided to let Collin stay home and I had to head over to church in Isle. We made a pit stop at the park. They redid the park this summer and put in this fun pirate ship playground. I even got on the merry-go-round and thought I was going to puke. I couldn’t get off there fast enough. I think I was a little too brave and sat in the middle and that was my mistake. Won’t do that again.
Trying my hand at a little maco work.
I got a hotdish in the oven and we headed to Kathio State Park. When we pulled in to the playground/beach there were about 8 or so deer. Here was one brave one left. It was nice to have the place pretty much to ourselves, except for a few down at the dam.
We were hearing a little ruckus out on the water behind the interpretive center. Here an eagle was swooping down and there were a few ducks out there that were flapping their wings. I wonder if it was going for the ducks or something else. That eagle flew around for awhile. It was fun to watch. Times like this I wish I could drop a couple grand on the 70-200 2.8 IS to replace my 100L.
We stayed a lot longer than expected and the boys even saw some friends before we left. Supper was a just a tad dry, but not too terrible. Tyler was all worried that the house was going to burn down since we left home with the oven on. Shane mentioned to him that there has never been a fire before when we had the oven on so why would there be one now. I told Tyler if there was we could get a new house and stuff then. He didn’t like that idea. Then I read on my photography forum today…someone posted a PSA of the day. If it smells like your oven is on fire, it probably is. It gave me a good chuckle and maybe one shouldn’t leave the house with the oven on.
